The Pecking Order, meet the cast
I often look out the window and notice that birds have very hilarious personalities. Thousands of stories could be made just by watching a Blue Jay chase after a Mockingbird about its meals. Here are the personalities of these birds.
The first bird we're going to meet is.....
The Blue Jay:
Mr. Blue Jay is the bossy kid in the neighborhood. He doesn't have the skills to fight other birds, but he does have a rather big mouth and boy does he use it. Blue Jay is rather like that wimpy bully from school. Although he does like to trash talk other birds, he still finds friends among others of his kind. His feathers are kept pretty looking so he will be the flashiest bird among all of them.
The Mockingbird:
Little Miss Mockingbird has many tricks up her sleeve. She is a mischievous little girl, often pulling pranks on some songbirds with her almost perfect voice impersonations. But she doesn't stop there, she is a strong one and will not allow the Blue Jay to trash talk her. Her reaction is often, "Fight me, you noob." Crows also try to take her lunch so she has to chase them down too.
The Dove:
Mrs. Dove is the quiet peaceful bird in the neighborhood. She watches the chaos between the younger birds. She usually comes out in the early morning and late evening and misses most of the midday mayhem.
These are most of the small birds that I have watched. Tomorrow I will introduce you to the waterbirds.
