Faster. Must go faster...
So last November, Koenisegg hit the Guineas World record for fastest production car ever.
With an average speed of 277.7 mph up and down a highway in Nevada, the Koenigsegg Agera RS beat the Bugatti Veyron by quite a bit.
So now we wonder... What next? Who's going to try to surpass Koenigsegg in the world record?
Well, there are a few options. Koenigsegg could build a new car that surpasses its own. Bugatti may try to take back their crown for the fastest production car. Or Henesy might try to take the crown from both after trying but failing with the Venom GT.
Henesy released news about the Venom F-5, marketing that it may be able to hit 300 mph. Only 24 of these 1,600 bhp cars will be built. It has not been put out for production yet.
Finally, eyes lay towards the Bugatti Chiron. Will Bugatti make this car able to beat Koenigsegg? Or will they build a new car that is faster and better? Only time will tell.
So for all we know, some small company out of some obscure place will bring out a car and amaze us with the top speed it can hit. As for right now, we can see the greatness of Swedish engineering and anticipate for the 300 mph barrier to be broken and bring ourselves into the world of high-speed cars.
